How I work

Compassionate Inquiry

Compassionate Inquiry helps bring awareness to unconscious beliefs, meanings and protective strategies that shape how we experience the present.

What is Compassionate Inquiry?

This approach, developed by Dr Gabor Maté and Sat Dharam Kaur, focuses on gently exploring what may sit underneath an automatic reaction, belief or story about yourself. Curiosity without judgement and respect for strategies that once helped you cope are central to the work.

What does a session look like?

We slow down around a specific experience and explore the emotions, bodily sensations, beliefs and meanings connected with it. Questions are not meant to lead you to a “correct answer”; they are an invitation to notice what may previously have remained outside conscious awareness.

When can it be useful?

The approach may support work with recurring relationship patterns, guilt or shame, over-responsibility, difficulty setting boundaries, disconnection from needs or a strong inner critic.
