What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is an experiential approach. It starts from the idea that the direction of gaze can be associated with access to particular emotional and bodily responses. In practice, it is not about finding a “magic point”, but about carefully following what emerges in your experience.
What does a session look like?
Together we choose a focus and observe bodily responses, emotions and the natural direction of attention. Sometimes we work with a fixed point in the visual field; at other times the process is more flexible. You do not need to describe everything in detail — what matters most is what is happening inside you in the present moment.
When can it be useful?
Brainspotting may be used as a way of working with tension, difficult memories, strong emotional responses, stuckness, overload or experiences that are hard to process through conversation alone. The pace and scope are always adapted to your current resources and boundaries.
